Our Research:

The Wosczyna Laboratory studies how mesenchymal stromal cells contribute to tissue maintenance and regeneration across injury, aging, and disease. In skeletal muscle, we focus on fibroadipogenic progenitors (FAPs), investigating how their lineage, communication with neighboring cells, mitochondrial biology, and organelle morphology relate to their cellular states. We combine lineage tracing and molecular analyses with machine learning to characterize how these cells contribute to pathological remodeling and identify mechanisms that may help rejuvenate tissue function.
